Everything you need to know about ordering, shipping, returns, and duties.

Shipping

Where do you ship from?

All orders ship from our Canadian warehouse. We do not dropship internationally from overseas: your gear ships from Canada, to you in Canada (or the US), without touching a foreign distribution centre.

How long does delivery take?

Canada: 2–5 business days coast to coast.
United States: 5–10 business days depending on the destination state and carrier. Rural destinations may take longer.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes: free standard shipping on all Canadian orders over $150 CAD. US orders over $200 CAD also qualify for free shipping before duties and taxes.

Which carriers do you use?

We ship with Canada Post, UPS, and Purolator depending on the destination and package size. You’ll receive a tracking number by email once your order ships.

Do you ship to PO Boxes or rural routes?

Canada Post deliveries can reach PO boxes and rural routes. UPS and Purolator require a physical address. At checkout, we’ll match your address to the right carrier automatically.


↩ Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?

We accept returns on unused, unmodified gear in original packaging within 30 days of delivery. Gear that has been used in the field is not eligible for return unless it’s defective. We want you to be confident buying from us. If something isn’t right, reach out.

How do I start a return?

Email us at returns@forgeandfield.ca with your order number and reason for return. We’ll send you a prepaid return label within 1 business day for Canadian returns. US return shipping is at the customer’s cost.

What if my item arrives damaged or defective?

Photograph the damage and email us at support@forgeandfield.ca within 48 hours of delivery. We’ll arrange a replacement or full refund immediately, no return required for defective items.

Can I exchange for a different size or colour?

Yes, for items available in multiple variants. Return the original (unused, within 30 days) and we’ll ship the replacement once received. For faster exchanges, place a new order while the return is in transit.


Duties & Taxes

Do Canadian customers pay tax?

Yes: Canadian GST, HST, or PST is calculated automatically at checkout based on your province. Prices are displayed before tax; you’ll see the full breakdown before you pay.

I’m in the US: will I be charged duties?

All duties and taxes are calculated and paid at checkout for US orders. We ship DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): the price you see at checkout is the final price. You will not receive a surprise customs bill at the door.

As a US customer, am I getting a good deal?

Our prices are in Canadian dollars. At current exchange rates, US customers effectively receive a 20–30% discount on the listed price, before any promotions. Premium gear at a genuine discount, with no border friction.

Are prices in CAD or USD?

All prices on Forge & Field are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Your credit card will convert at your bank’s exchange rate at the time of purchase.


Orders & Account

Do I need to create an account to order?

No. Guest checkout is available on all orders. If you create an account, you’ll be able to track orders and view your purchase history, but it’s entirely optional.

Can I change or cancel an order?

Orders can be modified or cancelled within 2 hours of placement. After that, your order has likely been picked and packed. Email orders@forgeandfield.ca immediately with your order number.

My tracking shows delivered but I haven’t received my package.

Check with neighbours and any safe spots the courier may have used. If the package is genuinely missing, contact us within 5 days of the delivery scan and we’ll open an investigation with the carrier. We’ll make it right.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, and Apple Pay. All payments are processed securely through our payment gateway. We do not store your card details.
